Our Services
Every gate service Craley Gate Services offers in York and the surrounding area, in one place, so you can go straight to the one that fits your gate.
Gate Services
Most gate jobs are one of three things: a new gate, a gate that has stopped working properly, or a gate that should open on its own. Each has its own page with the questions to ask, the parts involved and what a visit looks like.
-
New swing, slide and bi-fold driveway and entry gates, sized to your opening, slope and vehicles.
-
Sagging leaves, dragging gates, worn hinges and rollers, bent frames, and openers that stopped responding.
-
Gate openers, keypads, intercoms, remotes and safety sensors for new or existing drive gates.
Guides and Maintenance
A gate is a moving machine that lives outdoors through York winters and humid summers. These pages help you keep it running, choose materials that suit the site, and know what to expect from us.
-
A York-specific schedule for freeze-thaw winters and humid summers, before small problems stop the gate.
-
Steel, aluminum, wood and vinyl side by side, plus swing, slide, cantilever and bi-fold mechanisms.
-
How assessments, estimates and the work are handled, and the safety standards automated gates follow.
How We Work
Whether it is a new driveway gate or a repair, the job follows the same four steps.
-
Assessment
We look at the gate, the posts, the ground and the power, and listen to what the gate has been doing.
-
Estimate
You get a clear explanation of what the job needs and the price before work starts.
-
Install or repair
We do the work, then adjust hinges, stops, limits and safety sensors until the gate runs smoothly.
-
Walkthrough
We show you how it works, how the manual release works, and hand over the manuals and warranty papers that come with the equipment.
The process and standards page covers each step and the safety standards automated gates follow.
Homes or Businesses
Residential gates
Driveway gates, yard gates and walk gates for homeowners: curb appeal, privacy, a safe yard for children and pets, and a gate that opens from the car on a cold morning. See residential gate services.
Commercial and property management
Secure entry points, perimeter and fleet gates, access control for staff and visitors, and scheduled maintenance for businesses, HOAs and property managers. See commercial gate services.
What We Work On
Gates fail at their moving parts and their connections. On a typical visit we deal with some of these, whoever built the gate:
- The gate itself: frames, pickets, boards, welds, and leaves that have sagged or twisted.
- Posts and hinges: hinge posts that lean after a few freeze-thaw winters, worn hinge pins and loose hinge bolts.
- Slide hardware: V-groove wheels and tracks, cantilever carriages, guide rollers and gate stops.
- Gate motors and openers: swing arms, linear rams, slide operators, gear racks, chains, control boards and battery backups.
- Safety devices: photo eyes, safety edges and the wiring that lets the opener monitor them.
- Access controls: keypads, intercoms, remotes, receivers and vehicle exit sensors.
If your gate is stuck right now, skip ahead to the stuck or broken gate page: it shows what you can check safely and how to get help quickly.
Questions About Our Services
Do you work on residential and commercial gates?
Yes, both. Most days include a mix: a homeowner's driveway gate that has started to drag, an opener that stopped responding, and a business that needs a secure entry point for staff and deliveries. Jobs range from small residential repairs to larger commercial access control projects. The residential and commercial pages explain what each kind of customer usually needs.
Do you install every gate type?
We install and repair swing gates, slide gates and the openers, keypads and sensors that automate them, in the common materials: steel, aluminum, wood and vinyl. If a project is outside what we do, we tell you so at the first conversation rather than after a visit. The materials and options page compares the choices side by side.
